South Bend Tribune: ND receives $16 million in gifts
Can someone explain why schools like ND that have, literally, BILLIONS in endowment funds need me the middle income taxpayer to help subsidize more student loans?
Education is good. I get that.
More smart people with degrees is good for the economy. I get that.
Private and public universities are sitting on hundreds of millions of dollars in thier endowment funds. So why don't they guaruntee the student loans? Why don't they deal with the risk of the thousands who default on them every year?
If I misspell anywords in this post keep the irony to yourself. I am having a hard time getting the spell check to work.
